Please note: If you require a residential demolition permit please use the R1 application.


All construction, including renovations, development and demolition, must apply for a development permit. The Development Officer, Paul Hanlan must be contacted prior to commencing any project. He can be contacted through the Village Office, by phone at 780-994-1883 (evenings & weekends) or by email at development@albertabeach.com.

Note: All vendors on commercial property must apply for a development permit prior to any set up.

Building, Electrical, Gas, and Plumbing Permit Information:

The Safety Codes Council plays a key role in the safety of structures and systems in Alberta.

The Safety Codes Act requires that contractors and homeowners in Alberta obtain permits before beginning work on structures and systems covered under the Safety Codes Act. This work typically includes new constructions, installations, alterations, repairs, relocations, changes of use, demolitions, and removals.

Alberta Beach is a non accredited municipality. Compliance Monitoring for Safety Codes falls under the jurisdiction of the Alberta Safety Codes Authority. The links for contact information and permit applications for building, gas and electrical are listed below.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS:
As per the Municipal Government Act, Alberta Beach Council is required to hold a public hearing as part of the process to approve or amend a land use bylaw or other statutory plans. The purpose is to receive comments on related land use and rezoning applications. All hearings are open to the general public and your attendance is encouraged as they are an opportunity to let Council know your views on various issues regarding land use and development. You are encouraged to submit your comments in writing to the Development Officer prior to a hearing.

Written submissions which have been received before the designated meeting time will be included in the report for the Public Hearing.

295-24 BYLAW AMENDMENT

Alberta Beach is proposing amendments to Land Use Bylaw 252-17 to address affordability of new residential construction. A Public Hearing as required under Part 17 of the Municipal Government Act (Sections 632, 639 and 692), will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2024 to hear any written or oral submissions on the proposed Land Use Bylaw amendment. Written submissions will be heard first; oral submissions will be heard during the Hearing.
