Blue Bag Collection

Our Public Works Department picks up the Blue bag recycling on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. Blue bags are to be placed where you would normally place your garbage/organic carts for pickup.

Exciting news: An enhanced recycling system is coming to Alberta

Phase Two of the Extended Producer Responsibility Recycling Is Almost Here!

Starting October 1, 2026, residential properties in Alberta Beach will be able to recycle even more household materials through the curbside recycling program. The first collection date for the newly accepted materials will be Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

Expanded Accepted Materials

Residents will soon be able to place additional materials in their recycling bags, including:

  • Glass containers
  • Foam packaging, including Styrofoam
  • Empty aerosol cans
  • More flexible plastic packaging, such as grocery bags and plastic wrap
  • More rigid plastic packaging
  • And more!

These changes will help divert more waste from the landfill while increasing the quantity and quality of materials available for recycling.

How to Recycle

All accepted recyclable materials go into the same recycling bag. There is no need to separate different types of materials—recyclables will be sorted later at a recycling facility.

Please remember:

  • Recycling bags must be see-through, either clear or blue.
  • Place your recycling out by 7:00 a.m. on collection day.
  • The collection schedule remains the second and fourth Wednesday of each month.

Help Keep Recyclables Clean

Before placing items in your recycling bag, please give them a quick rinse and make sure they are empty and free of leftover contents.

Clean recyclables help reduce contamination and give materials a better chance of being successfully recycled.

Excess Cardboard and Paper

The large blue bins behind the Village Office will continue to be available for residents who have large amounts of cardboard and paper to recycle.

Thank You!

Together, we can recycle more and waste less. ♻️

We encourage our residents to continue to use the free cardboard and paper recycling bins located behind the village office for overflow or excess cardboard and paper.
