Alberta Beach offers waste and organic curbside collection services to residential households weekly.

 MAKE SURE YOUR WASTE & ORGANICS ARE COLLECTED:
Garbage (Grey Bin):
To ensure your garbage is picked up on collection day, use the following tips:

  • ensure your bin is out for collection by 7:00 a.m. on collection day.
  • ensure your garbage bin is in the correct location and has at least 1 metre of clearance on all sides as well as above the cart from any obstacle including parked vehicles, fences, or other carts etc, so as to allow direct and unimpeded access of the collection truck arm directly without hinderance of any kind.
  • ensure your bin is free of ice and snow during the winter months.
  • place your bin wheels to the curb edge of the roadway or lane (handles facing towards your home).
  • all household garbage waste must be bagged and inside the (Grey) bin with the lid fully closed, overflowing carts will not be collected.
  • Carts must be removed from street/alley after collection.

Organics (Dark Bin):                                                                                        
To ensure your organics is picked up on collection day, use the following tips:

  • ensure your bin is out for collection by 7:00 a.m. on collection day.
  • ensure your organic bin is in the correct location and has at least 1 metre of clearance on all sides as well as above the cart from any obstacle including parked vehicles, fences, or other carts etc, so as to allow direct and unimpeded access of the collection truck arm directly without hinderance of any kind.
  • place your bin wheels to the curb edge of the roadway or lane (handles facing to    wards your home). 
  • all organic yard waste must be unbagged and inside the (Dark) bin with the lid fully closed, overflowing carts will not be collected.
  • Carts must be removed from street/alley after collection.

 
Acceptable Organics – Grass, leaves, pruning’s, garden trimmings, small wood pieces. Organic carts with items other than grass trimmings, leaves, and branches WILL NOT be picked up.

CART PLACEMENT



Public Notice – Waste and Organics Collection Change: Effective July 17, 2023
If your residence is in the affected highlighted area on the maps below your Waste and Organics collection has been changed to front curb pick-up. If you notice your cart isn’t where you placed it out for collection, it has been moved to the front curb. Your residence has a small alleyway and to avoid unnecessary resident property damage in the alleyway your waste and organics cart collection has been changed to front curb pick-up. Please take note of where you find your cart(s). This is where they will be picked up from now on. Affected residences will also be receiving a flyer with details. If you have any questions, please contact the Village Office at 780-924-3181.


Lake Access Weed Pick-up:
The Alberta Beach Public Works Department continues to pick up lake weeds from lake accesses during the summer months. Lake weeds from  waterfront lots are the only item permitted for disposal at lake access points for pick up on Friday’s! Tree branches, foliage and other composting materials are not to be placed at the lake access point for pick up – they WILL NOT BE PICKED UP!


Important Reminders:
Each residential property in Alberta Beach is issued two carts, a Solid Waste Cart as well as an Organic Cart.

These carts are the property of the Village of Alberta Beach and must remain with the property they are issued to. They are not to be removed!

It will be the responsibility of the property owner to bare the replacement costs if lost or stolen. ($100.00 per cart)

Please do not dispose of in the garbage: used oil filters and containers, propane cylinders, and paint cans (unless the paint can is empty with the lid removed).
